Mrs. O’Brien

My name is Pamela O’Brien and this is my third year teaching First Grade at St. Jude the Apostle SchoolI I have been a teacher since 2009. I am certified for General Education and Students with Disabilities (both for grades 1-6).  I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The College of St. Rose. I have worked for Price CHopper since 1984 in a variety of positions. My last full time position in 2008 was as a Programmer\Analyst Level 3. I had been volunteering at my son’s school (St. John the Evangelist) and felt called to change careers. I remember helping students write poems and make rosaries. I knew I would be happier and fulfilled as a teacher. I worked for many years as a substitute teacher in many school districts. I am happy to be working at St. Jude’s because it feels like a family!

Here are some personal details about me:

  • I have been married since 1996 (Larry). I have a 39 year old stepson (Dylan) and a 24 year old son (Jack).
  • I love to read. I love watching basketball. (Go Celtics!)
  • I love to walk, hike and do yoga.
  • I grew up in Averill Park and attended St. Henry’s.
  • I live in Schenectady and belong to St. John the Evangelist parish.
