Race for Education 2021!!!!
Our annual Race for Education fundraiser is underway! Parents should have received their child(ren)’s online donation site links over the Easter break. If you did not, please contact Mrs. Hoffay. Donations have been coming in by paper mailer and online sites. We ask that families share the online donation site links through your social media platforms and by email to family & friends. It would be very helpful to re-share them once a week, to keep the post active.
This year’s prizes are:
- School goal – $13,000.00. If this goal is met, all children that bring in at least 1 donation will be given the chance to dunk Mrs. Hoffay in a dunking booth!!!
- We are currently at a school total of $9,545.00!
- Only $3,455.00 until Mrs. Hoffay gets dunked!!!!!!
- The class that brings in the most donations will be rewarded with a BBQ party!
- Kindergarten is currently in the lead with $2,227.00 donated.
- 4th/5th grade is currently in 2nd place with $1,295.00 donated.
- For every $100 in donations collected, that child’s name will be entered into a drawing for a $250.00 Visa gift card or a $250.00 tuition credit.
St. Jude the Apostle Summer Camp WILL open this summer!!!! More information went home in your child’s backpack. Some of the exciting details include:
- Open to all children age 3 through incoming 6th graders.
- 9 weeks of summer camp! The more weeks you register for, the lower the cost.
- Breakfast, lunch & popsicles provided daily!
- Bounce house days, water fun days, McDonalds days, crafts, cooking days, bike days, and so much more fun!!! Spots are filling up fast! Paperwork, $200.00 registration fee and a $50.00 activity fee need to be submitted in order to reserve your child/children’s spot.

The Knight Tea – Visit Unbreakable Nutrition located in the 43 Mall in West Sand Lake and purchase our very own tea, “The Knight”. The tea is Blue Razz Lemonade: a mix of Lemon Lime, Blue Raspberry and Lemonade flavors and is offered in caffeine free, or a variety of caffeine levels. $1.00 from every tea purchase will be donated to St. Jude the Apostle School! Get energized and help out our school!
Use of Online Daily Attestation Form – ALL families need to complete the online attestation prior to 7am each day to allow us time to download, print and disperse the daily report to all staff members located at school entrances. This will also require ALL parents of drop-off students to accompany their child(ren) to the entrance to show your completed screen to the staff member assigned to your child’s entrance. For siblings, parents/adults will need to take a screen shot of all siblings’ approval screens to be able to show the staff member at the door each day. If multiple adults drop your child(ren) off at school during the week, please share the link or the daily screenshot(s) with that adult doing the drop off. Remember that the screen color changes daily to ensure that we do not admit a child whose attestation has not been submitted. For children who ride buses to school, Miss Larkin will use the printed report to grant entrance to those children.

Registration for 2021-22 – Packets were sent home the week of 1/25 for you to review. Please check your information and return the registration with the non-refundable registration fee to the school office as soon as possible in order to hold your child/children’s place. New families to our school for 2021/2022 began registering on 2/16 and classroom spaces will be filled on a first come, first serve basis going forward. In order to secure your child’s spot in next year’s class, the form and registration fee must be returned to the school office! If you have any questions or concerns about registration for 2021/2022, please contact Mrs. Hoffay. Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade spaces are filling up fast so please do not hesitate!
Please make sure your child/children are coming to school with a clean mask on. Please wash
masks nightly. If they come to school with a dirty mask they will be given a paper mask.
Reminder for Drop-off & Pick-up Families – When dropping off students in the morning, cars may not park on either side of Dana Avenue (in front of school). Cars that do so are blocking a fire lane and blocking traffic. ALL cars must park in the school parking lot, and parents must exit their vehicles to accompany their children to their assigned entrances. For families that pick-up students at dismissal, you must loop through the school parking lot and exit back out Dana Avenue toward Hidley Rd. Ext. YOU CANNOT PASS BUSES WAITING TO BOARD STUDENTS NEAR THE CHURCH!!! Doing so is against the law and North Greenbush police have received complaints of our families violating this law during dismissal. Please comply with procedure for the safety of all of our students and staff!
School Store Fundraiser – This fundraiser helps our teachers earn materials for their classrooms. Family members and friends can earn money for our school while doing their regular shopping. Our families have earned the school nearly $8,000.00 to be used for classroom supplies. Orders have been delivered! Christmas came a little early for our teachers. Pictures were shared on the school’s Facebook page. Keep shopping and earning money for our school!
Health Office Update 3/19/21 – Health Office – There have been questions about traveling and if the regulations have changed. The travel requirements are listed on this website:
St. Jude’s will continue to use the online daily questionnaire for the students and staff. Please remember to fill out the questionnaire by 7AM daily for each student. For a student who is in-person or doing remote learning the questionnaire still needs to be submitted daily. If your child is not feeling well, please fill out the questionnaire with answering “yes” for that student. If the student has a sibling(s), they will also need to stay home until a diagnosis is received by a provider for the sick student. Please answer “no” for the sibling(s) until a diagnosis is given. The Department of Health protocol requires any sick student to be seen by a provider within 48 hours from the onset of symptoms. The provider will then decide if a covid test is needed. Either a note from the provider with a diagnosis and/or a negative covid test will be needed prior to returning to school. The documentation can be faxed or emailed to the school.
If a student is under DOH quarantine for exposure or for testing positive, a release letter from DOH will need to be faxed or emailed to the school PRIOR to the student returning to school.
Guidelines and protocols change often. Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns bvermilya@stjudetheapostleschool.org . We are doing our best to keep our St. Jude families up to date.
