Conferences 12PM to 7PM. No school/No CASE.
Please make sure your child/children are coming to school with a clean mask on. Please wash masks nightly. If they come to school with a dirty mask they will be given a paper mask.
Tastfully Simple Fundraiser– Update – This virtual fundraiser will earn St. Jude School 15% of the consultant’s profit. Our goal is $1,600.00 We are $795.00 away from our goal. Please share this with family, friends and social media. Simply follow this link, https://www.tastefullysimple.com/p/11292719 , and purchase any items you wish. Remember the holidays are coming! Great gift ideas, meal planning kits and easy entertaining for every day or the holidays. If we could get some families to book off of this party they earn free hostess credits to buy items. Our hostess will also donate 15% of her proft from these parties to the school and the school will have a chance to purchase ½ priced item per booking to raffle off! PCA and Elario Photography Inc. Family Portrait Fundraiser – Wednesday, 11/18 and Thursday, 11/19 from 5:30-8:00PM. Session will run for 10 minutes each at a cost of $130.00(a discount of $145.00 from Mr. Elario’s usual fee). Mr. Elario has graciously offered to donate $100.00 from each session to our school. We are restricted to 10 sessions each evening, for a total of 20 family sessions available. So, do not hesitate! There are only 4 sessions left!
St. Jude Catholic Community Food Drive – Our annual food drive has begun! Last year St. Jude Catholic Community was able to provide over 300 Thanksgiving baskets to local families in need, with the help of your generous donations. Our baskets are donated to St. Joseph’s Church Food Pantry and St. Joseph’s House of Troy. The following items are needed, including the reusable bag:
1 Reusable Shopping Bag
1 Can of Corn
1 Can of Carrots
1 Can of Cranberry Sauce
1 Can of Turkey Gravy
1 Box of Stuffing
1 Box of Instant Mashed Potatoes (please do not donate real potatoes)
1 Package of Cookies

Lifetouch Picture Make Up Day – Monday, 11/23/2020 Lifetouch will be here for our fall picture make up day. Students being photographed must be dressed as follows. Pre-K must wear their uniforms. K-6 must be in their dress uniform. You can order pictures at mylifetouch.com using the picture day ID: EVT8QQ2MX.
Scholastic Book Fair – 11/18 to 11/24/20 –
Go to https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stjudeapostleschool3 between11/18 and 11/20 to find our school. Here you will be able to create an account for your child, add funds, invite family and friends to add funds so that your child can shop at the Scholastic Book Fair on 11/23 & 11/24. Parents/guardians may shop on line from 11/18 to 11/24 for that special book for Christmas. All purchases benefit our school and earn rewards.
St. Jude the Apostle School “PCA” Wreath Fundraiser- If you pre-orderd a wreath, pick up will be Tuesday, December 1st from 2:30-5:00PM.
World’s Finest Chocolate – All families are required to sell 1 box of $1.00 candy bars. The $60.00 will be added to your FACTS account under “incidentals”. After you sell the contents of your box, that $60.00 is yours to pay off the charge. Our school will receive 50% of the proceeds from the sale! We are encouraging families to sell more than one box for the following prizes:

The class that sells the most boxes will receive a week of double recess time
The candy bar sales will end on Friday, December 18th.
Holiday Gift Shop Program – Shop Opens November 27th and runs thru December 11th – This year, our Holiday Shop is virtual, and all buying is online at our shop’s kid friendly website. The gifts are moderately priced, with most under $5 and a few special items between $5 and $12. Watch for more information going home soon!
North Colonie Milk Orders – We just would like to clarify that the cost for snack milk is $.60 for each milk your child/children order. If your child/children order lunch milk the cost is $.60 per milk. If your child/children order lunch, milk is included.
At this point in time you all should have received the information in regards to the online payment system called K12 Payment Center. This is where the charges of ordered milk will be posted to your child/children’s account. Lunches are currently free; you will be notified once this changes. You may set up one time payments or recurring payments through the K12 Payment Center. Please make sure your child/children’s account has funds in it so your child/children may purchase their milk. If you did not receive the information for the K12 Payment Center please let us know.
School Store Fundraiser – This fundraiser helps our teachers earn materials for their classrooms. Family members and friends can earn money for our school while doing their regular shopping. Our families have earned the school nearly $7,000.00 to be used for classroom supplies. Thank you!
PCA Meeting – The November 2nd virtual PCA meeting was very successful in getting new fundraising ideas discussed. The meeting notes were emailed to families on 11/5/2020. If you think you can contribute to any of the fundraisers mentioned in the or have ideas for others, please contact our President, Analise Agy at firstname.lastname@example.org . Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 7th at 6:00Pm. We will send a virtual invite to everyone closer to the date. We hope to see you all there!

Health Office – Update 11/5/2020 – Please refer to the list of symptoms put out by the Department of Health on the daily student questionnaire before sending your child to school. If your child has any one of the symptoms listed, please keep them home, call St Jude’s to inform us of the illness and call your provider for an appointment within 48 hours. If the student presents with any of the symptoms listed while at school, they will need to be picked up promptly and their provider contacted for an appointment.
To return to school, the student will need to be seen within 48 hours from the onset of symptoms, and have a note from the provider with a diagnosis stated on the note. For respiratory diagnosis’, the DOH requires a covid test to also be done. If the provider feels a covid test is not needed, the provider can state “not covid related”, write their diagnosis and sign the note. (DOH)
We have received guidance from NYSDOH which suggested that students who are seen for symptoms of COVID19 should be referred for a confirmatory laboratory based PCR test to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The rapid covid tests will no longer be acceptable for returning to school. Please contact the school for details on receiving school work to keep the student current in their class work while waiting for the covid test results. All results will need to be faxed to the school prior to the students return (518-283-0475) or the results can be emailed to addresses listed below
Thank you for your continued support in the commitment to protect the health of our students and the community. We understand that the continued changes can create frustration and confusion, however, we will continue to work together to get through these ever changing times.
There is an option for 10 day quarantine with a provider note & diagnosis, if a covid test is declined. Please contact the school for details on this option.
The student will need to be fever free for 24 hours without any medication assistance, and symptoms need to be improved in order to return.

Live Streamed Masses –The Parishes of St Michael the Archangel and St Jude the Apostle are continuing to live stream daily and weekend Masses. Especially during this difficult time, as the whole world is inflicted with the Covid-19 virus, we can come together to pray for healing and peace for all the people of God. Daily Masses are at 8:00 am Monday thru Friday; and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:10 pm. Weekend Masses are 4:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am Sunday. You may attend these Masses, ALL are welcome, or they can be viewed at either parish Facebook page.
