Monthly Character Education Theme:  “Helpful”

Due to a scheduling conflict, Field Day for Wednesday, 6/12 has been changed to Thursday, 6/13 for grades 1 to 3. Sorry for any inconvenience. 

We are now on to a waiting list for our 4 yr. old full day Pre-K program. The 3yr. old full day Pre-K program is filling up fast!

Feed the Students Summer Program and Personal Care Drive – Thank you for helping our community children with your generosity. We really appreciate it!

 PCA Gently Used Uniform Sale – You are welcome to attend our “Gently Used Uniform Sale” going on now in our front lobby. Our school hours are 7:30AM to 5:30PM. We are asking for a small donation if you find any uniforms that you would like to take. Donation boxes will be on the tables for your convenience.

Father’s Day Breakfast – The Knights of Columbus (KOC) will be holding an all you can eat “Father’s Day” breakfast on Sunday, June 16th from 8AM to 11AM in Damman Hall (school gym). Kids under 5 are FREE, adults $8.00 and kids under 12 $4.00. They will be raffling off 4 Grandstand tickets to a Tri-City Valley Cats game including (4) hotdogs and (4) sodas. All dad’s get one chance to win!

Student Styles Spring Sale – Student Styles will be having a “Spring Sale” from June 1 to June 15th with 10% off all uniforms, items, in stock, store orders, and web orders. They are located at 15 Cobbee Rd., Latham and can be reached at 518-220-9244.

Perennial Flower Request – If you have not already noticed our garden on both sides of the front sidewalk have been looking great! A BIG thank you to Jodi Agnew and Analise Agy for cleaning it up. We are now looking for perennial flowers to plant there. If you are cleaning up your garden and have any extra perennial flowers to donate please let us know.  We would also like to request that you keep the children off of the gardens so that they can take root and grow with beauty. Jody and Analise worked hard and we all need to respect that. Thank you!

Paul Effman Music –As the school year comes to a close, we want to offer you the chance to SAVE $25 for each child that you register for next year (2019-2020 school year). You can register students who have been in the program before and new students who will be participating for the first time – all students will receive the discount. Also, if you rent an instrument and plan to rent again next year, you do not need to return it. When you register, choose the “Keep My Current Rental” option. If you do want to keep your rental, please register before your Spring Concert and your instrument will not have to be returned when they are collected. Vacation Bible School- “Roar!” July 8-12, 2019(9:00AM to Noon) and “Escape to Athens with Paul” July 24-28, 2019 (9:00AM to Noon) – Join us for a great time! These programs are designed for children ages 4 to 11 yrs old. The cost for each session is $30.00 per child, $15.00 for each additional sibling. Registration forms were sent home or call the Parish office for more information (518-283-1162).

As always we have our running fundraisers that will continue on into summer! So please continue to keep us in mind!

Box Tops – Keep them coming!

Colonie Center School Bucks – We are currently in 9th place which is eligible for a prize. This weekend Colonie Center is quadrupling points!  Submit your receipts from Colonie Center to the Guest Services ASAP.  Every dollar spent equal’s one school buck for St. Jude School!

Our last PCA meeting will be June 3, 2019 in the Library at 6:30PM. If you chaired an event this year, please bring any information on your event that you may have worked on as we are going to set up folders for each event for next year to help with planning and passing on any information for the following year. If you can’t attend this meeting please leave this information in the office and we will set that folder up for you.

Disinfecting Wipes – The school has run out of disinfecting wipes due to all the illnesses during this past winter. If anyone would like to donate some disinfecting wipes it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Tuesday 6/11(Grades 4-6) & Thursday, 5/13 (Grades 1-3) – Field days

Friday, 6/14 – Last day of school for grades Pre-K, Kindergarten and 6th

Monday, 6/17 – Graduations: Pre-K at 9AM, Kindergarten at 1PM and 6th grade at 7PM

Thursday, 6/20 – Last day of school for grades 1-5, 11AM dismissal

Monday, 6/24 – Pre-K & Kindergarten Summer Program begins

Kindergarten Orientation – Any child entering Kindergarten that is registered with St. Jude the Apostle School for the 2019-20 school year may join us on June 19th at 9:00AM for our Kindergarten Orientation.
