Art Update from Ms. Chapko

Happy New Year from Art class! Students in Pre-K are working on drawing winter objects and doing some math. Kindergarten just finished their picture for the Lions Eye Bank Sight Contest (where money from the art calendar sales goes to benefit the blind). Students in 1st grade have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh by recreating Starry Night. Grades 2 and 3 learned how to do “scratch art” replicating Van Gogh’s style. Students in grades 3 through 6 have been working on horse inspired art for the Saratoga National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. There are seven students from 6th grade who have Martin Luther King Jr. inspired art on display at Siena College in Loudonville on Friday, January 11th.
