6th Graders meet virtually with Fr. Ligato and Fr. Chichester

The 6th graders were blessed with a visit from Father Ligato and Father Chichester on their daily Zoom meeting.  They have been reading articles and discussing the lives of people who had a calling from God to serve others, specifically through the Church.  This is a topic dear to Mrs Rodrigue’s heart, as her great aunt and uncle also chose to follow this path.  As she regrets not asking these questions herself, both she and her students have been wondering why, when, and how, one knows that he/she is meant to devote his life to God.  Therefore, it was only natural for them to want to hear about how our beloved priests came to the decision to devote their lives to the Church.  Many of them were surprised to hear that both men did not always know they wanted to become a priest.  Father Ligato originally wanted a career in the performing arts, and Father Chichester thought about going into politics and began a career as a military officer.  During class, Father Ligato said, “We never know the length of the thread woven by the Lord that connects us with one another.” During this time of isolation, as we strive to keep connections, this message is especially important.  This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to hear the experiences of our priests in their own words.  Thank you Father Ligato and Father Chichester!
