Monday, February 18th to Friday, February 22nd Winter Recess No School

Registration for the 2019-20 School Year – Registration packets were sent home for the 2019-20 school year. Please register by Monday, February 25th. A $100.00 non-refundable registration fee per family will be needed to hold your child/children’s spot.

All families who are re-registering for the 2019-20 school year and complete and return their registration paperwork and registration fee by February 25th will be entered into a drawing to have their registration fee refunded to them. Pre-K and Kindergarten are starting to fill up!

 KOC All You Can Eat Breakfast/Sunday, 2/17/19, 8AM to 11AM – in Damman Hall (school gym) at St Jude the Apostle SchoolKids 5 and under eat FREE! Adults $8, Kids under 12 $4.

Supporting Local Charities Has Never Been Easier!

The St. Jude the Apostle Knights of Columbus have teamed up with 6 Center Redemption Center located at 461 Main Street in Wynantskill to accept qualifying bottle and can donations to support local charities and those in need.

Simply bring your clean, qualifying empties to 6 Center Redemption, Wynantskill, NY and say they are to support the St Jude Knights of Columbus. They’ll do the rest! That’s it!

Luck of the Irish – REMINDER!  All Luck of the Irish tickets that have been sold MUST BE RETURNED BY February 28th to maximize chances to win in March.  However, we will continue to sell tickets throughout March.  If each family sells the 10 tickets they were given, our school can meet it’s goal.  Please try to sell at least 10!  If you need more, they are in the school office. Thank you for making this fundraiser a success! 

 February’s Service Project – Student Ambassadors will be collecting items and putting together “Socks of Love” to say thank you to our veterans. The Student Ambassadors will put everything together and deliver them to the VA hospital. All items are due by Tuesday, 2/26. Thank you for supporting our veterans! Items needed per class are:

Pre-K               Pack of Men’s size large, white knee socks

Kindergarten   Individually wrapped tooth brushes

1st Grade         Dental Floss

2nd Grade        Dental Floss

3rd Grade         Individually wrapped tooth brushes

4th Grade         Shaving Gel (not cream please)

5th Grade         Travel size packs of Q-tips

6th Grade         Men’s stick deodorant

Secondary Schools Fair – The Secondary Schools Fair featuring the seven diocesan and private Catholic high schools of the Diocese of Albany will take place on Thursday, February, 28th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the St. Ambrose Parish Center. To encourage attendance, we will have a giveaway for students that evening. There is also a link for families to pre-register, www.tinyurl.com/rcdaFAIR although pre-registration is not required.

Front of School-No Parking – We have noticed that there have been vehicles parking in front of school and along the sidewalk for drop off and pick up. There is no parking in front of school during school hours because this space needs to be left open for emergency vehicles and school buses. Please park in the school parking lot during school hours. You could possibly get a ticket for parking in front of the school during school hours. Thank you.

Student Styles Mid Winter Recess Sale – Student Styles is celebrating their 15th anniversary with 15% off all in stock merchandise (web orders excluded). They will also be having a “Spring Sale” from June 1 to June 15th with 10% off all uniforms, items, in stock, store orders, and web orders. They are located at 15 Cobbee Rd., Latham and can be reached at 518-220-9244.

Save the Date – Monday, May 6thAnnual Community Service Award Dinner for St. Jude Catholic Community-at the Franklin Terrace in Troy at 5:30PM. Please help us honor Mr. & Mrs. Cronin, Frank Giuliano and our very own Miss Carol Larkin! More information will be coming home soon.

  • Box Tops – Keep them coming!
  • Colonie Center School Bucks – Do you have holiday receipts? Submit your receipts from Colonie Center to the Guest Services located on the lower level near Five Guys. Every dollar spent equal’s one school buck for St. Jude School!
  • School Store – On going fundraiser-register your child at SchoolStore.net.

 Monday, 2/18 to Friday, 2/22 – Winter Recess – No School

 Reminder – Each family in grades K to 6 have to complete their 15 hour service commitment before the end of the school year or an additional $1,000.00 will be charged for each child attending our school. There are a few more fundraisers that are need of help. Please attend our PCA meetings to learn more. Next meeting is March 4th at 6:30PM.

Save the Dates – Spring Concert Thursday, 4/11 and St. Jude the Apostle School Annual Car Show/Transportation Fair will be held on Saturday, May 11th.
