First Grade is Reaching for the Stars!

First grade has spent a lot of time learning all about Astronomy! The students learned about the sun, the moon, and the stars! They spent time observing the sky and making pictures of horizons. They also spent time creating each phase of the moon by using Oreo cookies. That activity was a lot of fun!  Then students painted the moon, using a mixture of white paint and flour to give it some texture. After that they used a water bottle to stamp on some craters! The students learned what constellations are, and listened to the stories behind the special stars. Then they were able to create their own constellations and write stories about them! First Grade had a great time learning all about Astronomy!
